Labor Activist Cemetery Tour 6/21/25

The Forest Home Cemetery in Forest Park (you see it as you drive by it on the Ike) is one of Chicago's most picturesque and historic cemeteries dating back to 1873. After the 5 "Haymarket martyrs" were buried there in 1886, the cemetery became a preferred burial ground for many anarchists and leftists like Emma Goldman and Gus Hall plus lots of other interesting people connected with Chicago history. The Illinois Labor History Society arranges informative narrated guided tours of the Cemetery. You have to attend this fascinating auction item sponsored by the DUUC Men's Group Tour starting at 1 PM at the cemetery for about 3 hours. This will be a rain-or-shine outdoor event - we hope it does not rain but if it does you will be able to hear everything our guide says under an umbrella."
