Start at the Lake Katherine Nature Center and ride west to route 83 and back. Great trail; take a photo at the "nut." Brunch awaits at the lake where we can watch swans and relax after 15 miles of biking.

For millions of years, sandhill cranes have migrated north every spring. 80 percent of all sandhill cranes in North America use a 75-mile stretch of Nebraska's Platte River during spring migration. Join Karen Hutt and Steve Tiwald to witness this migration in March 2023 in central Nebraska. Package includes two viewings of the cranes, at dawn and at dusk, in strategically located blinds along the Platte River, and informative programs about the sandhill cranes. Attendees are also invited to join Karen and Steve at their home Sunday March 5 at 2 PM to learn more about sandhill cranes. Light refreshments will be served. Attendees will make their own arrangements for travel, accommodations, and meals. Viewings will be the afternoon of Tuesday March 28 and very early morning Wednesday March 29.
